William Richard Strickland

November 10, 1956 ~ August 8, 2020 (age 63)


Mr. William Richard Strickland, 63, a resident of Fort Deposit, AL died at Jackson Hospital on Saturday, August 8, 2020. A graveside service will be on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Myrtlewood Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Elwood Sims and Brother Jim Free officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2020. The family will accept flowers or memorials can be made to the charity of one's own choice.

Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his father, Jesse King Strickland.

Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debra J. Strickland; son, William Joshua Strickland; daughter, Jennifer Brynn (Tim) Hudson; grand-daughter, Dakota Hudson; mother, Louise Strickland; brothers, Michael (Reda) Strickland, Terry Strickland, David (Peggy) Strickland; uncles, Roy (Earnestine) Strickland, Robert (Garnita) Strickland; brother-in-law, Darryl (Becky) McNaughton; very special and dear friends, William and Sue Luke, Leha and Jan Lehmann, Mark Holland, Kevin Foshee, Clay Nolan and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rick loved the Lord, family, and friends. He loved all his church family dearly. Rick loved the outdoors. He was a member of Capt. Bast Ranging Unit and the Alabama Rangers. He had a special place in his heart for every member of these two groups.

Pallbearers: Michael Strickland, Mark Holland, Terry Strickland, Clay Nolan, David Strickland, Walter Nolan, Leh Lehmann, Jennifer Hudson.

Honorary pallbearers: William Luke Sr., Matthew Strickland, Joshua Strickland, Brantley Strickland.
